Robust chaos in a credit cycle model defined by a one-dimensional piecewise smooth map

چکیده
We consider a family of one-dimensional continuous piecewise smooth maps with monotone increasing and monotone decreasing branches. It is associated with a credit cycle model introduced by Matsuyama, under the assumption of the Cobb-Douglas production function. We offer a detailed analysis of the dynamics of this family. In particular, using the skew tent map as a border collision normal form we obtain the conditions of abrupt transition from an attracting fixed point to an attracting cycle or a chaotic attractor (cyclic chaotic intervals). These conditions allow us to describe the bifurcation structure of the parameter space of the map in a neighborhood of the boundary related to the border collision bifurcation of the fixed point. Particular attention is devoted to codimensiontwo bifurcation points. Moreover, the described bifurcation structure confirms that the chaotic attractors of the considered map are robust, that is, persistent under parameter perturbations.

Border collision bifurcations in a two-dimensional piecewise smooth map from a simple switching circuit.
In recent years, the study of chaotic and complex phenomena in electronic circuits has been widely developed due to the increasing number of applications. In these studies, associated with the use of chaotic sequences, chaos is required to be robust (not occurring only in a set of zero measure and persistent to perturbations of the system). These properties are not easy to be proved, and numeri...
متن کاملBifurcations of Chaotic Attractors in One-Dimensional Piecewise Smooth Maps
It is well known that dynamical systems defined by piecewise smooth functions exhibit several phenomena which cannot occur in smooth systems, such as for example, border collision bifurcations, sliding, chattering, etc. [di Bernardo et al., 2008]. One such phenomenon is the persistence of chaotic attractors under parameter perturbations, referred to as robust chaos [Banerjee et al., 1998]. In t...

We study a particular bifurcation structure observed in the parameter space of a one-dimensional continuous piecewise smooth map generated by the credit cycle model in [23] where the map is de ned over the absorbing interval via three functions, one of which is a constant. We show that the at branch gives rise to superstable cycles whose periodicity regions are ordered according to a modi ed U...

In this work we study some properties associated with the bordercollision bifurcations in a two-dimensional piecewise linear map in canonical form, related to the case in which a xed point of one of the linear maps has complex eigenvalues and undergoes a center bifurcation when its eigenvalues pass through the unit circle. This problem is faced in several applied piecewise smooth models, such ...

We consider a two-parametric family of one-dimensional piecewise smooth maps with one discontinuity point. The bifurcation structures in a parameter plane of the map are investigated, related to codimension-2 bifurcation points defined by the intersections of two border collision bifurcation curves. We describe the case of the collision of two stable cycles of any period and any symbolic sequen...
